ABOUT DRINKFUL
I lost over 30 pounds. More importantly, I learned how to keep it off.
I'm the founder of Drinkful, and this started with my own experience.
Over the past decade, I've lost over 30 pounds and kept the weight off. Along the way, I've spent a lot of time learning about nutrition, experimenting with different approaches, and figuring out what actually works in everyday life.
The biggest lesson? Weight loss doesn't have to be miserable. And it definitely doesn't have to take over your life.
I love food. I like going out, enjoying a good meal, and not having to think about every calorie all the time. I didn't want to give those things up just to stay in shape.
So instead of following another restrictive diet, I gradually built a system around a few simple principles.
What I learned along the way
1. You can keep eating the foods you love.
You don't need to eliminate pizza, dessert, or your favorite restaurant. Often, a few small swaps, smarter portions, or a little planning are enough to make your favorite foods fit. The best diet is one you don't feel desperate to quit.
2. Hunger matters more than most diets acknowledge.
It's much easier to make good decisions when you're not constantly hungry. I learned to prioritize protein, fiber, filling foods, and meal timing. Managing hunger isn't a shortcut around weight loss. It's what makes consistency possible.
3. Think in weeks, not individual days.
Your body doesn't reset its calorie balance at midnight. If I know I'm going out Saturday, I can eat a little lighter during the week and enjoy the night without feeling like I've ruined anything. One big meal doesn't undo a good week, just like one salad doesn't create a healthy lifestyle.
4. Walking is one of the most underrated tools.
Not every calorie needs to be burned in a gym. A 15-minute walk, pacing while watching TV, or getting up and moving between meetings all add up. Small increases in everyday activity can make a meaningful difference without requiring another exhausting workout.
5. Give yourself time.
You don't need to lose five pounds this week. Losing around a pound a week can create an incredible transformation over a year. Crash diets might produce dramatic numbers, but progress you can maintain is worth much more.
6. Protect your muscle, not just the number on the scale.
Eating enough protein and strength training help you hold onto muscle while losing fat. The goal isn't simply to weigh less. It's to look better, feel better, and build a healthier body for the long term.
7. Measure what matters, then adjust.
Your first plan won't be perfect. That's fine. Watch your progress, pay attention to hunger and energy, make small adjustments, and keep going. Consistency doesn't require perfection. It requires a process you can return to.
Why I'm building Drinkful
Once I'd figured out what worked for me, I started thinking about how much easier the journey could have been with better support.
Most people don't need another list of foods they're not allowed to eat. They need help making the next decision: what to order for lunch, how to manage an evening craving, what to do after an indulgent weekend, or how to adjust when the scale stops moving.
That's why I started building Drinkful Coach, an AI-powered weight-loss companion built around the practical lessons I've learned.
It gets to know your goals, your schedule, your favorite foods, and the things you struggle with. Then it helps you build a realistic plan, make everyday decisions, and adjust along the way.
I'm also developing a fiber-based drink inspired by something that helped me personally: feeling fuller and more satisfied while eating fewer calories. The drink is still being developed and tested, and its results haven't been established. The coach works without it.
My hope is that, together, these tools can make sustainable weight loss simpler, more affordable, and less overwhelming.
This is just the beginning.
Drinkful is a small, founder-led project. I'm still experimenting, learning, and improving it with feedback from people who are trying to make a change.
If you've ever felt like you know what you should do to lose weight, but struggle to make it work in real life, I built this for you.
You don't need another crash diet. You need a system that fits your life.
Stay full. Keep going.
